Send a Thank You Message
Sending a message to your local healthcare workers can be an easy but great way to share your gratitude. Most hospitals have an online form or information on how to send messages to their workers. For example, the Medical University of South Carolina, one of our local hospitals, has a page for submitting your messages: https://muschealth.org/heroes.
Donate a Meal
What better way to say thank you than with food? There are multiple ways to donate meals to your local healthcare workers. You can find restaurants, like Panera Bread, that have programs that help donate meals, or contact your local hospital and ask how you can donate directly.
Volunteer
One of the biggest struggles that healthcare workers see during these times is the lack of workers and resources. Volunteering can help bring relief to healthcare workers, even if it isn’t direct work. Examples of volunteering opportunities are Covid-19 testing sites, vaccine sites, or local healthcare sites that need volunteers. VolunteerMatch is an excellent resource for finding volunteer opportunities.
Do Your Part in Stopping the Spread of Covid-19
Many hospitals are overflowing with Covid-19 patients, so keeping yourself healthy is one of the best ways to thank healthcare workers. So, don’t forget to wash your hands, keep your distance when you can and talk to your doctor about the best ways to prevent sickness.
Be Kind
If you do find yourself sick or at the hospital/medical clinic, remember to be kind. Our healthcare workers have been through it all these last couple years, so be patient and grateful they are there to care for you. A little kindness can make someone’s day.
On behalf of New Directions Staffing, we want to send a BIG thank you to healthcare workers; you rock!
