If you’re looking to lead enterprise data management and reporting, we’d like to introduce you to this exciting opportunity.  

We have been engaged in a search for a Director of Data Management and Reporting who will be responsible for leading the Data Management and Reporting team in designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Student Information Systems (SIS) and related applications in an Oracle-based Ellucian Banner environment.. 

In this role, the Director of Data Management and Reporting will:  

  • Lead the design, development, security and maintenance, and oversight of databases in which data extracts are housed, including Oracle, SQL, and stored procedures in MS SQL Server.  
  • Drive strategy around ETL and data warehousing efforts for the company and maintain documentation of data sources and dictionaries.
  • Develop data processes that adhere to data management, data security, and quality control for extracting queries and storing data.  
  • Develop action plans to leverage data assets more effectively for decision support and reporting while recommending standardized practices in data solutions.  
  • Liaison with executive leadership and business stakeholders formalize data governance used in reporting and coordinate data management and reporting efforts. 
  • Keep current with trends in the market including building data warehouses, developing institutional reporting strategies, analytics, and providing decision support.  
  • Participate in code reviews via Team Foundation Server to ensure that code meets quality standards and is free of errors.  

 The appropriate individual will have demonstrated experience in the following:  

  • A background that includes roles in the capacity of a senior or lead programmer/developer, manager or director.
  • Leading data management, reporting, and or small applications development teams in environments that include a combination of C#, ASP.NET and SQL.  
  • C# ASP.NET, SharePoint, HTML, APIs, and report development using SSRS. (Power BI knowledge preferred).  
  • Program using SQL in multiple environments, SQL server, and Oracle PL/SQL.  
  • Program and administer permission control in a UNIX / AIX / LINUX / UNIX shell programming environment.    
  • Data security and data privacy best practices.
  • Lead multiple timelines in a software developer/database-intensive role.
  • Azure Active Directory and Microsoft suite integration. 
  • Develop, test, and document Oracle packages, functions, triggers, and procedures.  – (Desirable)
  • Oracle Ellucian (SCT) Banner Student and Financial Aid modules.  (Preferred)
  • Educational Federal Reporting Requirements (IPEDS, National Clearinghouse) – (Desirable).
