{"id":20839,"date":"2025-01-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newdirectionsstaffing.com\/it\/job\/job-14887-peoplesoft-oracle-database-manager-remote-ma\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T00:16:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T00:16:01","slug":"job-14887-peoplesoft-oracle-database-manager-remote-ma","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/newdirectionsstaffing.com\/it\/?post_type=job_listing&p=20839","title":{"rendered":"Peoplesoft (Oracle) Database Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"vgblk-rw-wrapper limit-wrapper\">\n<h4><strong><a id=\"myCustomID\" href=\"https:\/\/newdirectionsstaffing.com\/it\/job\/JOB-14887\">To Apply for this Job Click Here<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">We have been engaged in a national search for a <strong>Peoplesoft (Oracle) Database Manager<\/strong> who will lead a team of database administrators who have a primary responsibility for the reliable and secure operation and management of PeopleSoft software, Oracle databases, and related software components.<\/span><br \/><br \/><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">(This is a remote \/ hybrid career opportunity with onsite meeting responsibilities in Massachusetts every three months). <\/span><br \/><br \/><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">In this role, the <strong>Peoplesoft (Oracle) Database Manager<\/strong> will:\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Build and maintain a high performing team to successfully implement strategic Peoplesoft projects; ensures operational excellence for all the applications in the team\u2019s portfolio; fosters a collaborative and supportive work culture that promotes knowledge sharing and professional growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Manages a team of PeopleSoft and Oracle Database Administrators for database performance to ensure efficient operation of PeopleSoft applications; identifies and resolves performance issues through tuning, indexing, and other optimization techniques; assigns tasks, sets objectives, and provides guidance to ensure the team&#8217;s effectiveness and productivity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Uses Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) frameworks to manage day to day database operations and incidents.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Ensures security policies and procedures are implemented and enforced to protect sensitive data stored in the PeopleSoft databases; monitors database access and ensures compliance with security standards and regulations; maintains detailed documentation of PeopleSoft database configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Ensures the availability, integrity, and performance of PeopleSoft applications and databases, including Oracle or other supported database platforms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Collaborates with Information Security teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate security risks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Collaborates with application developers and system administrators to optimize PeopleSoft application database configurations and settings. Designs and maintains robust backup and recovery strategies for PeopleSoft databases to minimize data loss and downtime.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Conducts capacity planning exercises to anticipate future resource requirements and scale database infrastructure accordingly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Implement access controls, encryption mechanisms, and auditing procedures to protect sensitive data within PeopleSoft databases.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">The appropriate individual will have demonstrated experience in the following:<\/span><br \/><br \/>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Managing and leading teams of Peoplesoft, Oracle or similar data base administrators.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Peoplesoft and Oracle Databases. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Knowledge of Linux and or Windows Operating Systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">ServiceNow or other ITSM tool for managing incidents.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">ITSM practices. (Preferred).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Experience with vendor ERP software.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Leading the development of and maintaining source code libraries and manage formal software releases for production environments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Replication and clustering.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">DevOps tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, GitLab, Vagrant, etc. (Preferred).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Ellucian Banner (ERP) \u2013 (Highly desirable). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Diagnostic tools such as network packet, hardware performance, and storage analyzers, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Bachelor\u2019s Degree or Associates Degree with 10 years\u2019 relevant experience or high school with 12 years&#8217; relevant experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Are you Ready to move your Career in a New Direction?<\/span><\/strong><br \/><br \/><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">If so, we\u2019d like to meet you.
